Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to be a professional ballet dancer. After having a time spent with her sister Katie in the Ladies Room movie set, Emily began to be interested in acting. While taking acting lessons she was also offered the role of a guest on a show that aired in Canada. Some of the TV series she was a part of include Are You afraid to be in the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major significant breakthrough in his career following being cast in Glory Days, the WB thriller. The show was canceled after 9 episodes, despite glowing reviews and low ratings. On May 12, 1986, the actress immediately secured a new role in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the principal characters. For this part, it was that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and as well as the four Teen Choice Awards.
